MR. J. ALLEN AT SHANNON
The Opposition’s Claims. WELLINGTON, October 9. At Shannon on Saturday Mr James Alien, M.P.. addressed a meeting in advocacy of the Opposition platform. The general tenor of his address was that the most notable legislation passed during tlie Ward Administration had been passed with the aid of the Opposition party, and was therefore to the credit of Parliament, and
■-ot solely to the Ward Government. He refused the statement made in the House -eceutly that Mr Massey, if Premier, would sell all the Crown lands at their original value, his policy in this direction referring only to. the lease-in-perpetuity lauds. Mr Allen was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
