PATEA COUNTY COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER REGULATING MOTOR TRAFFIC. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN ITIHAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the “Public Works Act, 1908,” and the ..“Motor Regulation Act, 1908,” and amendments, and all otuer Acts and powers whatsoever in it in this behalf enabling the Council of the County of Patea (hereinafter called “the Council”) doth hereby make and ordain by Special Order the By-laws following, to come into force on March Ist, 1912: “When a motor being driven or ridden on a road constructed in a side cutting, with an embankment, or on a road having a fall on one side, or on a road bounded by or near to a river or stream, the driver or person in charge of such motor shall, notwithstanding any rule of the road to the contrary, when meeting or passing any person riding, leading, or driving, any horse or other animal, or driving any vehicle, drive such motor on the side of the said road towards the embankment, fall, river, or stream, and shall by signalling or otherwise, warn any such person as to the side of the road on which he is about to drive such motor.” 1 The above By-law .to be confirmed at a Special Meeting of the Council to he held on MONDAY, OCTOBER IG, 1911, at 11 a.m. By Order.
