THE WEATHER.
DAMAGE AT WELLINGTON. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 24. The heavy rain and gale last night caused some damage to Iho fences, telephone and other wires. Several substantial slips of earth arc also reported. One is temporarily blocking the traffic on the Hutt Hoad, and another caused a dislocation for some time of the tram traffic on the recently-opened Wadestown line. The weather has now moderated, but it is still very windy.
