TUBERCULOSIS IN COWS.

VERY PREVALENT IN WAIRARAPA. (Per United Press Association.) MASTERTON, July 24. Several local farmers state that the prevalence of tuberculosis in cows is becoming alarming, and they urge the compulsory veterinary inspection of all herds by the Government. They assert that several recent infections locally reveal a very grave state of things. Referring to the grass grub, a well-known local farmer states that it is very bad throughout the Wairarapa district, large areas of grass having been destroyed. The pest is worse than ever known before and has caused serious losses.
