■■ * AN INTERESTING DECISION. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 20. Mr Justice Chapman gave his reserved decision to-day in the case of the captain and owners of the steamer Durham versus the Collector of Customs. The'plaintiffs sought an order under tho Declaratory Judgments Act interpreting section T.Voi the Shipping and Seamen’s Act, and declaring whether the current rate of wages in New Zealand is payable to seamen employed on a ship arriving from abroad and loading and discharging cargo in New Zealand ports. The Judge held that the coastal rate of wages was payable in the circumstances of this case.
