THE VETO BILL.
DUKE OF BEDFORD'S VIEWS. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Jul- 21, 8,5 a.m. LONDON, July 20. The Duke of Bedford, in a speech at Woborn, said that if the Parliament Bill returned to the Lords in its original form independent Unionist peers would not surrender their trust. If they surrendered the Unionists in the country would say that the House of Lords was useless. THIRD READING DEBATE. Received July 21, 9.25 a.m. LONDON, July 20. The House of Lords was crowded, many distinguished visitors, including Indian potentates, when Lord Morley moved the third reading of the Parliament Bill. He said that though so changed that it was no longer the Government Bill its rejection would mean a tremendous dislocation of Parliamentary business, and a great exas piration of political opinion. The Government had a right to cxroct the Lords to follow the precedent of the Budget, and pass the Bill approved at the general election.
