(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 29. The High Commissioner cabled (November 27) as follows: — MUTTON. The mutton market is quiet, with a tendency in favour of buyers. Stocks are being reduced, but the supply meets the demand. The average prices are: — Canterbury 4d, North Island 3^d. LAAIB. The sale of lamb is dull all round, owing to the poor demand. Considerable quantities of btale lamb are being placed on the market, the average price being — Canterbury 4d; other New Zealand 3|d. BEEF. The beef market is weak. Supplies of River Plate beef are heavy. New Zealand hindquarters average 3sd, forequarters 3d. BUTTER. There is a good demand for butter, prices being firm but on a lower level in anticipation of heavy arrivals. The average price of New Zealand choicest butter is 118s, Australian 114s, Danish 128s, and Siberian 110s. CHEESE. The cheese market is quiet, but steady. There is no change in prices. New ZeaiaDd 575. HFMP. The hemp market is firm with a better demand. New Zealand good fair grade <>n spot .£2B 10s, fair .£27 10s; Manila — Fair current JJ27 10s. January-Marrh shipments: — New Zealand good fair ,£2B, fair .£27; Manila fair current ,£27. The output ol manila, for the week is 21,000 bales. COCKSFOOT. The cocksfoot market is firm, and buyers have been offering more freely. Stocks on hand are light. The price of bright clean 171bs New Zealand seed is 72s per cwt. KAURI GUM. The kauri market is rather quiet ; ordinary to fair threequarter scraped is quoted at 165s per cwt., fair halt-scraped 102s 6d; fair half to three-quarter scraped 87s 6d, picking common to good 40s, bush fair to good pale and amber scraped 150s. The stock on hand is returned at 311 tons. WOOL. Wool remains firm. Crossbreds are strong.
