NEW RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.
A TARANAKI DEPUTATION. Hon. Mr Millar's Opinions. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 29. A representative Taranaki deputation waited on the Minister of Railways this morning with objections to the proposed new time-table. I The Minister said the New Plymouth line was no longer the Main Trunk, and the time-table had to be made to work in with the new Main Trunk. He was very sorry to have to state that no alteration could be made in the meantime, because all arrangements had been made to bring it into , operation on the 6th of December. He did i not agree with objections of the Northern Steamship Company that the altered tra ; n hours would prevent them running three steamers a week. There was no chance of making the train arrive at New Plymouth at 8 p.m., though he might get it speeded up from Palmerston, so that it would finish the journey between 8.30 and 9 p.m.
