The glorious weather of the past two days has come as a welcome change after ! the high winds which, for a- week or so, preceded them. Yesterday there was a nice cool breeze, but to-day there was lees air motion, and about mid-day it was decidedly warm. As, however, Christmas is now less than a month off, the increasing; heat is not surprising. The members of the Borough Council and Gonville-Cawtlecliff Tramway Board met in conference in committee lavst evening, when matters in. connection with the supply of power by the lorough and th" cost thereof for the proposed suburb m tram extension were discussed at length. ft was decided to refer the question turther to a committee of both bodies, and another meeting will be held in about a fortnight, by which time the members of the Board hope to have the benefit of the idvice of an engineer, applications for which close on Tuesday next.
