LAWN TENNIS.

The Marton Lawn Tennis Club has notified the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association that they are in complete agreement with the formation of a separate association in this district, and with Wanganui as the centre. They point out that Wauganui is easily communicated with by telephone, and train arrangements suit from all direction. The Marton annual tournament takes place on January 21st and 22nd, for which entry forms will be sent to the secretaries of local clubs in a few days. The Girls' College and Wanganui Lawn Tennis Clubs played a friendly match on Thursday afternoon on the former's courts, which resulted in a win for the Wanganui Club by the narrow margin of one match. — Wanganui 9, College 8. Some close and interesting matches were played, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. Afternoon tea was kindly supplied by the Col- i lege and was much appreciated.
