Transfers and Promotions.

WELLINGTON, February 12. In accordance with the recommendations of the recent Police Commission, the following promotions and transfers have been decided upon by Commissioner Dinnie; — Sub-Inspector Patrick Black transferred from Auckland to Dunedin; SubInspector Green transferred from Dunedin to Timaru; Sergt. Douglas Gordon, of Mount Cook Training Depot, promoted to be sub-inspector, and transferred to Auckland. The following are appointed station sergeants: — Sergt. Thomas King, Oamaru, and transferred to Dunedin; Sergt. Samuel P. Norwood, Wanganui, and transfered to Christchurch; Sergt. Charles William Hendry, Newton, and transferred to Auckland; Sergt. William John Phair, Rotorua, and transferred to Wellington. Promotions to Sergts. — Constables Michael Murphy, Wellington; Thomas Barrett, Waimate; D. D. Hutton, Johneonville; James Black, Marton.
