The Morning Leader states that the Registrar of Bridgewater was summoned to the "Abode of Love," at Spaxton, Somerset, to register Smyth Pigott's baby. He saw in the chajMl forty worshippers. Reid (Piggott's secretary), Piggott, and the registrar were the only men present. A beautiful young' woman lay on a couch, whereon a babe was dressed in white. Piggott admitted that he was the father of the child. Tho mother, Ruth Greece, described herself as a lady. In her next reply she described herself as a nurse. The child was then christened "Glory." There was a splendid choral service, the mother and child receiving homage.- "Glory" is considered to be a new Messiah. Piggott's legal wife was present, or in the vicinity of the chapel. Greece has been deluded into believing herself to be Piggott's di-vinely-appointed spiritual bride, and as such is received by the Agapemonites. [The above refers to the Agapemone — an association of men and women who have come into increased prominence of late, and who are described as "living promiscuously on a common fund." There is a branch of the association at Charlynche, near Bridgewater, in Somersetshire.]
