FAMILY, SUDDENLY STRICKEN.

A case possessing very sad features was made known at Bendigo on Sunday, July 23. A fortnight ago a child of H. Watt, miner, was treated in the hospital for pneumonia, and was discharged cured. A few days later three other children contracted the disease. The infant son, William, died on Friday, and two little girls, Lillian Eose, aged 4 years, and Emily, aged 6 years, died on Saturday. Another child is now in the hospital suffering from pneumonit. It is stated that the family are in very poor circumstances, and that owing to that fact medical advice was not sought until the disease was too far advanced. An effort is being made to assist them.
