AnnuaJ Ball.

Many .enjoyable, balls have been held by the "Old Boys," biit.it is safe to say that last night's function was the most pleasurable and the greatest success of all. The ball was held in the Drill Hall, and was very larg-ely attend«d, over 200 couples being present when- the- first dance commencod, including a large number of visiting Old Boys and'-friends.-' Though the floor was a little rough at the start, it • improved later on, and there 'was no cause for complaint in this connection, thanks to the efforts, of the committee, who had worked ka¥& i '- l to make it up to concert pitch. The decorating of tlie hall had been most tastefully done by Messrs Purser, and Cb.^ assisted by the committee,- and it lmxst be said that it looked very nice indeed. The walls were adorned by the school colours, photographs, flags, etc., whilst from the roof hung streamers, etc., the effect -being very pleasing. The supper; which was a most sumptuous one, was provided by the Association and its "lady friends. The tables were very nicely decorated, and-presented a charming and attractive appearance. The music was supplied by Mr- O'Hara's orchestra of eight instrumentalists, and gave the utmost satisfaction, .and added much to theenjoyment of the dancers.- The stewards^ — Messrs L. Craig, G. -W. Currie, X J. Day,* A. W. Mountforty.G. H. P.ownall, and R. J. Stevenson — are to be congratulated on the undoubted success scored, to which the excellence of the arrangements contributed very greatly. : A -special word of praise is. due to the ball secretary, Mr T. Craig, who carried out the arduous d,uties pertaining to that office with a zealousness which ensured success. Dancing was kept j upj till an early hour, when the gathering i dispersed after all haying spent, a .most delightful evening. * ' ~ V
