Fiala and members of the Zeigler Arctio expedition were rescued at Franz Josefsland by tho Terranova (Captain Kiap^en), and have arrived at Honningvag, JW ,ay. Their ship, the America, was crushed by the ice and foundered in Neplitz Bay in January, 1904. Three attempts to reach a high latitude failed. Fiala's highest was 82 degree 13 minutes. [The new Zeigler expedition, led by Mr A. Fiala. left in June, 1904, for Franz Josef sland. Some anxiety was felt for the safety of Baron Toll, of whom no tidiugs were received in 1903. M. Birula, the zoologist, who wintered in, New Siberia, arrived at Irkutsk' early in tho year. He reported that Baron Toll reached Cape Wussokyi on July 10, 1902. and after depositing a record, started again for Bennett Land. A relief party sent there failed to find him.]
