LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL REFORM.
(By Telegraph. — Special to Hebald.) . DUNEDIN, June 17. It is understood that the Hons. LeeSmith and Twomey- j^ere informed some time ago that it was not intended to make any fresh appointments to the Legislative Council, or to renew any appointments until the country had spoken on the question of Council reform with some measure of certainty. The reform of the Council, whether it shall remain nominative, or be placed on an elective basis, or ended, will thus become one of the burning question* at the ensuing general elec- . tion.
