WANGANUI SAILING CLUB.
To-morrow's Race.
The c».rainitt-.3e of the above met last evening and made "final arrangements in connection with the race' to take place tomorrow for Messrs. Millward Bros.' trophy. I£ was resolved that the race, be started from a mark opposite -the dolphin (between the cattle and town wharves), and that the course be. three times round the second red buoy, down the river. The time limit was fixed at 2J hours. The start will be by means of a gun, on the report of which moorings viill be shipped and sails set. The race is timed to start at 2 xj'clock sharp. feres. <.-..;•» In the absence of Messrs Tuck and Bennett, Mr W: Burr was appointed judge and starter for the> King's Birthday race. It was resolved that this race be run with the old numbers, but in future all boats will carry a-distinguiahing pennant (such pennant to be registered with the secretary of the club).It was .resolved' that the, next race eventuate on Saturday, the 19th of No-. vember, and Mr G. fl. Jones' prise of a? suit of clothes be the first prize, and Mr A. Hatrick's prize of a book on sailing be the second prize. The committee wish to inform the owttr era (or sailers) that last season's rale re-, garding the stone wall will be strictly adhered to, viz., that no boats will be al-^ low.cd to cross the walls ' on either side of the channel.'
