Argentine Competition.
(Per United Preaa Association-.) WELLINGTON, December 10. The Industries and Commerce Department received the. following cable from the Agent-General, ' dated London, Bth iusfc. : — 221,447 carcoses of River Plate mutton were received into,, the United Kingdom' front the ' Argentine last month. 178,489 carcases were landed at Liverpool, •20,349 at ' Hull, and Newcastle, 12,874 at Plymouth and Southampton, and 9,735 alb Cardiff. The average -price realised for thees shipments was 4£d per lb. 3,989 ewts. of butter were .lauded _in London and Liverpool from the Argentine during last month, and the average price realised was 108 bto 110s- per cwt.
