This farcical comedy is to form the bill of fare for this evening, and is stated to be a delectable one, served up with everything in the way of wittydialogue, screamingly funny situations, and flavoured with a liberality of songs, dances, and so .forth. It " caught on" considerably in the South, holding the boards in Wellington' for six nights, and constituting as it does one of the best of the pieces the- Company play, there should be a bumper house in the Opera House to-night to witness its performance. .

'The Wanganui auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society will hold their annual 'meeting to-morrow evening in St. Paul's Hall. 'We are glad to I earn that. New Zealand is paying a littte more attention to the work of this Society, for the contributions are now more than double what they were three years ago, 'and it is probable that close on .£IOOO ivill be raised this year, and yet,-as this is a work that is common to all Protestants and taking their number at about 600,000, it only means that «El. is given by each 600 people, less than per head, for the supply of Bibles to philanthropic and missionary objects,-and it is to be hoped that many who do not as yet contribute will be led to do so during the coining year. The town 'of Wanganui will have raised about .£45, against £24 last year. Tho meeting to-morrow night will be addressed* by several of the ministers of 'the town, and a large attendance should be drawn together.
