A Mild Panic Last Night.
CHRISTCHURCH, November 19.
There were a number of shocks at Cheviot last night, after a heavy convulsion at 8 o'clock, which caused a mild panic. Up to 11 this morning thero were no tremors to-day.
Mr Hall-Jones left this morning for Cheviot, and Sir Joseph Ward is expected to arrive there at daylight tomorrow.
