mine. Violent thunderstorms prevailed throughout tho colony yesterday, and telegraphic communication with Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia was temporarily interrupted. In some parts tho storm raged with the severity of a tornado. Melbournb, October 25. Terrific gales have jbeen raging on the coast for tho past two days, and on the shore a considerable amount of damage has been done. At Brunswick, ono of the suburbs, the roof was torn off a large grain store, and a wall blown out. Tho schooner Aquilla foundered in Port Melbourne Great damage is reported from country districts.
Adelaide, October 25.
Violent gales blew yesterday nnd slight damage resulted to shipping. Tho tide was the highest over known in South Australia. Out of seventeon fishing vessols which were lying at anchor at Kingston, ten were either blown ashore during the height of tho gale or sunk.
Pbbth, October 25. The elections under the new Constitution will begin on December 10.
