WELLINGTON.
November 1. The Government have received a cablegram from the Colonial Office that Her s Majesty will bo reoommended to assent to • Hie Governor's Salary Bill. The Commission sitting in Sydney to discuss M. Pasteur's scheme for exterminating rabbits, etc. is now engaged in drawing up & report for presentation to the New South Wales Parliament. The Customs revenue collected in the colony for the month just expired is £124,286, as against £124,209 collected in October last year. For seven months of the financial year the total is £808,672, being £75,078 under the estimate. The beor duty for seren months shows a deficit of £2749. By advertisement Mr Laird colls a meeting of his supporters ft>r this evening. Messrs Hill and Poole's tender for working the totalisator at the Manawatu races this season has been accepted.
