March 5.

At Geraldine yesterday Joseph Mackay was further charged with embezzling three sums of £1 6s 6d, £2 2s 4d, and £14 12s lOd, the property of the Government Insurance Department. The Court sat from 10 till 5.30, the greater part of the time being taken up by irrelavent questions asked by the accused of witnesses. Accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed, himself in £100 and two sureties in £50 each.
