An " At home " was held to-day on board the Ruapehu. 900 were present. From this port she takes 52 tons of cheese, shipped by the Agricultural and Mercantile Company. Ihe cheese is stored in the cooling chamber. It transpired at a meeting of the Harbor Board, to re-consider the appointment of a Dock Engineer, that a great majority of the members had never even read the testimonials of the applicants.
