THE GILES TERRACE DISPUTE.

(To the 'Editor of the West-port Times and Charleston Argus) Sib,—As considerable misunderstanding on the subject of our claim exists, will, you do us the favor of inserting a few remarks on it. The case is just this. There are three distinct leads of gold running through the ground, and all payable. If the frontage system means that one party shall hold all these, then our chance is out. If the frontage system, as we allege is reasonable, means that different parties are entitled to different leads, we shall get our ground. If we are denied this a large area of ground, sufficient for nearly 2000 men, wdl be taken up by 200, and the district will suffer the loss of 1800. This is the real fact, and the importance of the case to thousands of miners must be apparent. Can one party hohl three leads of gold that is the question ? We hold they cannot. Why not have it worked as has been the case at the Caledonian, where for some eighteen months no disputes to speak of have arisen ? We are, &c. Geo. Norman, of Nicholls, Perry and Party. » To tlie Editor of the West-port Times. Sir,—l wish to call your attention to an article which was in the Evening Star' to night cutting up the frontage system, and wish to inform you that over one hundred and fifty miners from Giles' Terrace, and along the lead to Deadmans, signed a petition to the Warden in favor of the frontage system, and when the miners themselves wish to continue it, outside parties have nothing to do with it. lam, a Claim-holder, on Giles' Terrace, S B. Davies.
