PRAISE FOR VOITRE. SYDNEY, Sunday. The "Sunday Sun’s” representative at Caulfield says that Voitre impressed critics by the patient manner in which lie handled his mounts. He is assured of plenty of riding when he settles in Melbourne.
Commenting on the win of Capris in the Stanley Plate, he says that the manner in which she spreadeagled the field forced a well-known judge to remark, "She is the best sprinting filly bar Arachne.”

Three-quarters of a length; two lengths. Time, 2.224.
A VALUABLE PRIZE. LOS ANGELES, Saturday. Azuear won the Santa Anita £20,000 handicap. Lady’s Man was second, and Time Supply third. Twenty started. Equipoise, Mate and Twenty Grand were included in the also rans.Azuear is an Irish steeplechaser who was unable to win a race in England and was shipped to America as a steeplechaser. The only Canadian horse, Ted Clark, was fourth, after making the pace throughout. The time was 2.2 1-5. Equipoise, the favourite, never threatened the winner.
