The smouldering quarrel between tho Anglican Church and Parliament, regarding divorce will be fought out as the result of a powerful representative committee of churchmen framing proposals to exclude divorce from the Established Church, says the “Sunday Graphic. ’ ’ Tho committee suggests incorporation in the marriage service of a vow that neither party under any circumstances will seek a divorce, which must be observed under pain of ex-commun-ication, including refusal of Communion. Tho couples refusing to take the vow must be married by the registrar, ■without the church’s blessing.
The proposals must first be submitted to tho Convocation and if approved will bo taken to Parliament. Advocates declare that if Parliament refuses the measures must be adopted by the Church as an administrative act for which the civil law’s confirmation is not required.
