Shortly after their marriage they moved to the Wairarapa which at that time wxs largely covered with bush. For a number of years Mr Golder was engaged in bush work at Dalefield and from 1890 to 190 G he was bushfalling on the'Weraiti Estate commencing from the Te Ore Ore Boad and finishing some five miles away on the Braneepeth side of the Taueru River. For the whole of these sixteen years sawmills were cutting through heavy bush whore to-day is some of the best pasture land in this district. Motor cars are to-day running on roads where bullocks strained almost thigh deep to pull the heavy logs to the tramways for transportation; concrete bridges have taken the of wire hung suspension bridges and macadam roads have replaced the wooden tramrails.
