The offering totalled some 5100 shoeix Good 5-year-old ewes were in strong demand and although most of the sheep were light in condition on account of the Tecent drought, satisfactory prices were realised. Moore and Sons, 18/2; 81, 17/2, Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: —We held our annual ewe fair at the Masterton yards on Saturday when a full yarding of ewes was offered to a very big attendance. Buyers were present from the South Wairarapa, West Coast and Taranaki districts. With the very welcome rains experienced in this district during the last few days, the local graziers were present in strong force and bid freely throughout the sale. Our entry comprised 5970 head, and included in this were the usual well known annual drafts of local run-holders. These executed very keen competition and we consider the prices the best recorded so far this season. The demand for 2tooths was weaker than anticipated, but the offering on this class was not up to the usual standard. In fact the yarding throughout was not up to the mark of past Masterton fairs, this being chiefly due to the long period of Lot, dry weather that Ave haA r e been experiencing. I A very nice draft of 800 5-year oavcs was offered on behalf of Glendonald ' Station and these made 21/2. Braneepeth and Morland Station offered their usual annual drafts and these made good values. There Avas no easing off in prices as the sale progressed, and it is evident that the demand for eAA-es is not satisfied by any means, and it seems that good breeding cavos will meet Avith strong competition for some time to come. Taking the sale all through it A\ r as most satisfactory and avo practically cleared our yarding at the folloAving prices:—Glendonald, 5year, 21/2; B. F. R. Beetham, Brancepeth, 2-tooth 23/-, 4-tooth 22/3, 6-t.ooth 20/6, 5-year, 18/3; O. 11. Beetham, Morland, 4-tooth 20/-, 6-tootli 23/1, 4year 20/-, 6-year 16/-; D. Donald, 2tooth 19/8; R. Graham, 2-tooth 18/5; 5year 19/2; Les. Donald, 4 and 5-year eAves, 16/3, 4 and 6-tootli 16/7; Admiral Station, 4-year 20/4, 5-year 19/1; Harvey Bros., 5-year 20/4; 5-vear 19/1; HarA-ey Bros., 5-year 16/9; John Andrew, 5-year 16/1, 4-year 16/-; Peter Andrew, 5-year 16/4; Gordon Thomson, 5-year 16/1; W.
