"Ethiopia, however, wants peace. We have complete faith in the word of the King of Italy and Signor Mussolini that Italy does not intend any warlike adventures in Abyssinia.” TROOPS FOR AFRICA. ROME, Saturday. Signor Mussolini reviewed two battalions of Blackshirt Fascist militia mobilised by postcard prior to their departure for Italian East. Africa. The Prince of Piedmont reviewed a third battalion at Naples. Many left their businesses at 4S hours’ notice. Big camps have been established at Syracuse and Palermo, where a holiday atmosphere r prevails. Enthusiastic crowds in the streets and at railway stations farewellcd the militia.
Troops are arriving at Messina and concentrating in a large camp. They understand that they will be transported to Eritrea and Italian Somaliland.
