BOWLING
BOOTH CUP COMPETITION. In a match for the Booth Cup on Saturday, at Martinborough, the Park Club were defeated, losing two games out of three. The green played well, and the Martinborough Club deserved their win. The following were the results, Martinborough mentioned first:— Connall, McNally, Stumbles, Wright (s) lost to Buckley, Jenkins, Braggins, Kilgour (s), 20/25; Francis, McGregor, Jolly, Skill (s) beat Williams, Lamb (sub.), Southey, Bell (s), 25/18; Lamb (sen.), Yates, Larsen, Boyd (s) beat Osborne, Reader, Gibson, Ewington, 30/17.
PARK CLUB. A notable event in the champion singles, played on the Park green during last week, was that two colts, Butler and Thompson, contested for the semi-final position; Spaekman eventually winning the champion singles. Champion singles.—Thompson beat Kilgour, 21/18; Thompson beat Butler, 20/17; Spaekman beat Thompson, 28/15. Champion pairs.—Butler and Kilgour beat Dixon and Stanif ortli, 23/18. Champion fours.—Fenton, . Simpson, Vincent, Stubbings (s) beat Blewett, Dixon, Stanifortli, Carr (s), 19/17. In the above champion fours, a very close game resulted in 17 all on the last head. An extra head had to be played, with the result in favour of Stubbings. The same teams will play in the final, Carr having two lives prior to the above game. Peter Kelly Cup.—Campbell and Carstens thanked Fenton and Thompson for the Cup when they won it for the Mast n-ton Club, the Park losing by 17/22.
Fri mdly games played between the Park and Mastorton Clubs on Saturday were as follows: —Masterton team, Gooding, Denbec, McCullough, C. Perry (s) beat the Park team, Blewett, Watson, Dixon, Carr (s), by '25/20. Masterton team, Delaney, Mills, Hughes, Dyer (s) lost to the Park team, Fenton, Simpson, Vincent, Stubbings (s), 31/11.
