WALKER BEATS PEREIRA. HASTINGS, Thursday. A packed house witnessed a fast, strenuous wrestling bout in Napier this evening, when George Walker defeated Al Pereira by two falls to one. Pereira socured the first fall ii* the fifth round, clapping on a flying body scissors, and adding an arm-bar and body press. Walker, evened up in the . seventh round, throwing Pereira six times with beadlocks, then dumping him after an aeroplarib spin. The was eroggy for the eighth round, \\ alkcr clapping on a head-lock for an easy fall. —(P'A-). MATCH AT MASTERTON. The Wairarapa Wrestling Association announces that it has completed arrangements for a contest between George Walker, British Empire heavyweight champion, and Jack Clark, to take place in the Opera House on Fnday, 25th August. , To suit the convenience of town patrons, the match will not commence till 9.15 p.m., and will be preceded by interesting amateur bouts. The box plan is now open at w. Orange’s, tobacconist, and early booking will be necessary to ensure getting a seat.
