METHODIST HOME.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Masterton Methodist Children’s Home, Mr S. J. Smith presided, and there were also present:— Messrs C. E. Daniell, W. 11. Judd, F. E. Wells, Dr. Prior and the Rev. E. O. Blamires,- Mesdames Cocker, A. Pragnell, Miss Burton and the Eev. J. Cocker (secretary-maanger), and Miss Allan, the matron. It was decided to present a Bible to Miss Louie Churchill, the first girl to enter the Home, who is to be married shortly. A communication was received from the Child Welfare Department, stating that under the most favourable conditions 4S was the capacity number that could bo accommodated at the Home, The matron ! s report showed that the work in the Home was proceeding in a satisfactory manner. Miss Moorhead had been appointed a member of the staff.

During recent weeks friends have expressed their sympathy by sending the following gifts, which were much appreciated:—Anonymous, case of pears, case of apples and clothing; Mr Grey, Grcytown, three cases of apples; Gloom Chasers, sandwiches, etc.; Wray and Son, bread and pastry; Mrs Allan, Grcytown, vegetables; Mrs 'Clift, Hastings, six cases of apples; Mr David Smith, meat; Mrs Davie, clothing; Anonymous, clothing; Miss Daniell, shoes; Mr Seed, a birthday tea; Wray and Son, buns, etc.; Miss Burton, quinces; Mr 11. Butler, birthday cake; Anonymous, meat and potatoes; High School, cakes; Anonymous, meat; Gressier’s, buns; Mrs Graham, apples; Mrs Wilson, buns; Mr Farley, ease quinces; Ramblers Hockey Club, cakes; Golf Ball, butter, fruit salad and bread; per Allan and Co., from Zealandia Soap Co., one-tlrird of a hundredweight of soap.
