THE EXHIBITION.
SUBSTANTIAL CREDIT BALANCE. A credit balance of £J2S was shown at a meeting of the Wairarapa Industrial Exhibition Committee last evening. the balance in the art section being £IOO 14s, with a contingent liability of £4. The chairman, Mr D. N. Edwards, presided. The chairman congratulated Mr Clemas and his committee on the results in the Art Section. The amount of work and the interest they had taken were really splendid, and their attention and courtesy to the public was very much appreciated, lie moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Clemas and his committee, which was carried by acclamation. Air A. E. Clemas stated that his committee had suggested that the balance from the Art Section might be spent almost immediately, in some, way, for the benefit of the town. However, il was for the committee to decide what was to be done. After discussion, it was decided to place £IOO on fixed deposit, with a view to holding -an Exhibition annually. A hearty vote of thanks was unanimously accorded by acclamation to Air Walter E. Knott, who first suggested the Exhibition. Eulogistic reference was made by several speakers to Mr Knott’s untiring efforts during the Exhibition. Votes of thanks were passed to the Masterton Borough -CoufnciiJf, Wiaira,rapa Power Board, Alessrs C. E. Danii.il, Ltd., Alasterton Atunieipa! Band, Carterton Band, Alasterton Municipal Gas Department, Air E. W. Payton for decorating the halls, Air AY. G. Perry, and Alessrs Fly and Young for providing a car for the Parliamentary party.
