AERIAL NAVIGATION

KING’S CUP RACE. LONDON, Friday. Fourteen aeroplanes left Croydon at 6 a.in. for a two days’ race for the King’s Cup, two circuits round Harrogate, Newcastle, Renfrew, Blackpool, Bristol, and Croydon. The total distance was 1600 miles. Fog played havoc with the race. Ten of the machines were forced to land, including Hinkler’s which landed on a workshop. Most of them resumed the flight. The Cup was won by the Master of Sempill, Captain Cobham second and Hinkler third. All finished within eight minutes of each other. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
