ROUGH WEATHER.

DAMAGE BY FLOODS. Practically the whole of the Dominion has suffered from the ravages c£ the recent storm. 111 the Manawat-u district the heavy rains of last week have flooded the Manawatu and Oroua rivers, and vast areas of land have been inundated. The main road between Palmerston. North and Wellington has been flooded in places to the depth of three feet,, and traffic has been completely held up- . In Canterbury it is estimated that it will eoßt thousands of pounds to repair the damage caused by water. Reports of heavy rains and subsequent 'floods have also come from Auckland and Otago.

To cap it all, Westport has been enjoying bright sunshine, and many of the inhabitants on Saturday were surfbathing!
