The Carterton v. Masterton golf . match, to have been held to-day, has been postponed owing to the weather. The Lansdowne links will be closed ,-and there will be no competition today. Players may go up to practise, but are particularly requested not to play on the greens. Iji the Carterton Golf Club's competition for the President’s trophy, Mr P. Shankland was successful in the senior grade with a net score of 78. Among the ladies Mrs. A. C. Feast won the competition with a score of 84 net in the seniors, and Miss Fisher in the juniors with a score of .86 net for nine holes.: In the bogey competition for balls presented by the club, Mrs Steel won the senior grade with a score of five down, while Miss Fisher won the (junior 'with two down.
GLENEAGLES TOURNAMENT. LONDON, Thursday. At Gleneagles, starting in match play proper, in the first round J. H. (Kirkwood (Australia) beat C. Corlett tnreo up and two to play. Amos defeated Kirkwood, four' up .and three to play.
