WELLINGTON SENSATION.
STARTLING ALLEGATIONS. OF CORRUPT BUSINESS PRACTICE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Sensational allegations of corrupt business practices were made at a meeting of creditors of R. Ginsberg today. Seventy creditors were present, including 50 solicitors. ; It was alleged tnat Ginsberg, who had been carrying on an indent agency known as the ‘Belgrave Novelty Company,”' had employed travellers and others who put down V bond of sums, mostly about £2OO. These bonds, when they left the employment, it was alleged, were retained by Ginsberg. Debtor’s counsel was subjected to a long bombardment of questions, and it was ascertained that his assets were nil. Counsel said that moneys might be .forthcoming, but these, .would not pay the whole of the, bonds back. : The meeting decided to request. Ginsberg to file , a petition in bankruptcy within 4S hours, .arid also, a list of the homes and addresses' of the creditors With a view to assisting the police in i;helr investigations. 5 - j To-night Ginsberg was arrested on a charge of stealing £IOO, ' which he held in; trust, for W. IL Trilford. Other charges are said to be pending.
