VA/AIRARAPA RUGBY UN3I& NEXT SATURDAY’S FIXTURES! . Championship matches in all grades will be resumed -om Saturday next, July 28th. The senior representative team to meet Wellington on August 4th will be announced after Saturday’s results; also the North and South Wairarapa junior representatives. The main attraction in Masterton is the appearance here again of Carterton, the leaders in the senior championship section, who play Red Star upon. Memorial No. 1, at 2.30. Both teams will be at full strength, having no players upon the injured list. After the splendid display given upon a greasy ground by Red Star in their last match against Masterton, there axe many who predict that Carterton will have to give their best display to win from the “magpies.” Masterton seniors again journey to Greytown, for the second time this season, to meet that club’s team on Greytown Reserve, No. 1. At their last meeting on the same ground, the game proved the fastest and best exhibition of Rugby seen in Greytown this season. Another bright display can ijfc fidently be looked for from. teams, and Masterton will endeavoir? to reverse the result of their last defeat by Greytown. Featherston, who gave a very muck improved display in their last match against Greytown, when they succeeded in playing a drawn game on Greytown’s home ground, will meet Gladstone at Carterton. Gladstone- expect to be at full strength again, all their backs having recovered from recent minor injuries, and with the regular Featherston senior fifteen also on the field, this game should prove exceedingly interesting. i . : Owing to there being insufficient Saturdays available to finish the full third round of North and South junior sections, and allow the play-off between 'these two sections to decide the actual Wairarapa junior champion, team, the Rugby Union have decided to> match the four leading teams in each section next Saturday. On the following Saturday, August 4th, the leaders in. each section will play off for the Wairarapa junior premiership, and on Sat- : urday, August 11th, the usual North v. South junior representative match take place. The Wairarapa team for 1923 will be selected after tBSsT game. Junior representative home-and-home matches with Wellington,, Hawke’s Bay and Bush then follow. In the North junior section, next Salnrday’s fixtures will therefore be: —Mauriceville v. Opaki, on Memorial; No. 2, and Pioneer v. Tauera, on Memorial No. 3. The North junior selectors will view both games. As these teams play little below senior standard, thein matches should be well worth watcMngMasterton juniors draw the In the Northern tures will continue as High School and Red Starconclusions on Memorial No. 2 as a tain-raiser, at 1.30 sharp, to. the Mau-wj rieeville v. Opaki game. _ P Two curtain raisers are also providetL by the fourth grade this week. Masterton, who are now even with Carterton at the top of the championship ladder, will play High School B our Memorial No. 3. at 1.30; and Red Star and High School A will try conclusion® on Memorial No. 4, also at 1.30.

Owing to the heavy list of fixtures, all curtain-raisers must start punctually at advertised time. Grounds must be free for the higher grades at 2.30.^ w
