MASTERTON STOCK SALE. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Stock .Department, report having hold their weekly sale at the Colombo road yards yesterday. They .submitted a small entry of sheep and a good entry of cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices realised were as under: —Sheep. —Fat 4-toc-tli wethers, .'!7s; fat ewes, 395. Cat-tie.--Tearli.ng heifers, dairy sorts, £4; yearling steers, 27s 6d; 2-year steers, £4 Ids; enipty heifers, £6 ss; emptycows, £4 Os; bulls, £4 ss; weaner ]dgs, 3Ss. THE ADDINGTON MARKET. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHVECH, Wednesday. At the Addington market, all classes of stock were well forward to-day in increased numbers, particularly fat cattle and both fat and store sheep. The values for both sections of sheep showed a slight easing. Store Sheep. —A bigger yarding, which included a large representation of hoggets. The market was governed by the class of wool, halfbred sheep bringing 3s to 5s a head over last sales of the better quality crossbreds. Ewes and lambs of all classes sold well, but coarse wool hoggets were down. Fairly good 2-tooth wethers, 31s to 34s 6d; inferior 2-tootli wethers, 25s Id to 235; good 4, 6 and S-tooth wethers, 36s to 38s 3d; fairly good 4, 0 and 8-tooth wethers, 29s 3d to 34s 9d; sound and failing-mouthed ewes ami lambs, all counted, 22s 2d to 24s Id; low conditioned 4, 6 and S-tooth ewes and lambs, 21s 2d; crossbred wether hoggets, 27s to 27s lOd; inferior hoggets, 19s to 23s 9d; halfbred wether hoggets, 29s to J2s 6d; good crossbred owe hoggets, 27s 10d to 30s 9d; halfbred ewe hoggets, 31s Gd to 34s 9d; cull ewe hoggets, 21s 9d to 24s 3d. Lambs. —About sixty were yarded, and there was a recession from the fancy prices ruling earlier in the season to something like normal. Fat Sheep. —The sale opened easier than last -week. It firmed temporarily, but then fell away, and values were down from 2s Gd to 3s per head all round for coarse wool sheep. Halfbred sheep sold well, and shorn halfbred wethers made up to 42s Gd; extra prime wethers, 54s Gd to 675; prime wethers, 46s Gd to 53s 9d; medium wethers, 41s to 45s 9d; light and unfinished wethers 28s Gd to 39s 6d; prime shorn wethers, 42s Gd; medium shorn wethers, 53s 6d to 35s 3d; extra p rime ewe9 > 48s 6d to 525; prime ewes, 50s to 565; medium ewes, 35s to 35s 9d; light and unfinished ewes, 28s 6d to 335; prime shorn ewes to 41s; medium shorn ewes, 33s 9d to 36s 9d; hoggets, 30s to 33s lOd. Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 303, including a good proportion of well finished quality. Though not so keen, the market showed little quotable change. For prime beef, medium and inferior were easier. Extra prime steers, £35 5s to £39 10s; prime steers, £2B 10s to £35; medium steers, £22 5s to £27 15s; light and unfinished, £l4 17s 6d to £-1 10s; extra prime heifers, £24 ss; prime heifers, £l7 10s to £2l ss; ordinary heifers, £l4 15s to £l7; light and unfinished, £lO 12s Gd to £l4; extra prime cows to £26 10s; prime cows £l7 los to £2l 2s 6d; ordinary cows, £l6 os to £l7 ss; light and unfinished cows, £ll 15s to £l4. . _ Yealers. —A poor quality lot. Runners, £9 17s Gd; good vealers, £7 15s; medium calves, £4 6s; inferior calves, £2 ss. Dairy Cattle.—A big yarding, and a good demand. Shorthorn cross _ cows, £2O; good springing heifers, £ls; medium heifers, £9 10s; good second and third calvers, £ls to £l7. Store Cattle—A weakening in values, except for good young steers. Three and four-year steers, £l3 ss; 2-jear Hereford station steers, to £lO 16s 6d; dry cows to £ 12s; 2-year heifers, £< os.
