(Received Thursday, at 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, Wednesday..
General Maurice, writing from Paris, says: It is becoming abundantly clear that neither Germany nor all our eng. mies together can find the resources necessary to set the world on its feet again. Very little is expected from Austria, Bulgaria or Turkey, and it ia> doubtful whether we will be able to wring sufficient from Germany to restoro the material <iamago done in Prance, Belgium, Servia and Roumania. Possibly Britain will obtain some shipping; to compensate for her losses at sea.
Possibly Germany to some ext&rrfc will meet the bill by territorial adjuaiments such as the allocation of iho Saar alley coalfields to France to compensate for the destruction of tha I*eaa coalfields. Other similar arrangement* aro contemplated.
