An earthquake at 5.28 o'clock on Saturday evening caused considerable alarm and a general exodus from dwellings. It was the heaviest experienced for many years. No damage was done,
TIMARU, Monday.
A severe earthquake was felt at Gapes Valley, near Geraldine, between 5.25 and 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.
