PLUNKET SOCIETY.

MONTHLY MEETING,

Tlie. monthly committee meeting of the local branch of the Plunket Society Avas held in the Caledonian Hall yesterday afternoon. In the unavoidable absence of the president (ALrs T. P. Watson)? C. A. Cameron took the chair. Tin-n> were also [present, Mesdames J. P. Perry. Win. Perry, Sykes, MacKae and Cheiniells (hon. sec). Nurse. Hancock's report for the month of August .showed 17 new babies on the books and a further increase in the, number of visits paid to homes, and also in the number of mothers' visits to the Plunket room.

Somu pleasing additions to the furniture of the room have been received this month from Mr Richardson, of Hawke-'s Bay, and from Mr Birch; also the following subscriptions to the funds of the Society: Mr Hugh Morrison £25 (life member), Mr T. G. Mason £1 Is, Mrs Norman Beethani £1 Is, Nurse Spellman .El, Mrs Welch (Hukimui) £.1, Mrs Carswell 10s, Mrs Rutherford ss, Mrs McMullen .js, Mrs Ronald ss. The central council have decided to hold the "Dominion Baby Week" throughout New Zealand from Sunday, October 28th, to Friday, November 2nd (both days included).
