PIPE BANDS CONTEST.

DUNEDIN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP.

AUCKLAND, Sunday. The champion pipe band contest on Saturday afternoon was won by. Dunedin, with 334f points. Auckland was second with 304 points, and Oamaru third with 270 points. These were the only competitors. Points were given for music, dress, appearance, and drill, and Dunediu led in each Department. The judge said the Dunediu band would be difficult to beat anywhere. Other events attracted very few competitors. Bellamy, of Victoria, won the Gillie Calum sword dance, and Irish jig championships, and J. Center, , of Victoria, won the championships for p'ibrochs and marches.
