A NOTE PICKED UP. THOUGHT TO BE A HOAX. Press Association—Tilectric Telegraph—Copjrr.ght. (Beceivod Monday, at 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, Monday. The captain of the steamer Malaita has brought a bottle containing a pencilled note, worded: "We are lost; there is no hope.— G. W. E., s. a. Waratah," which was found at Tanna Island, New Hebrides. The opinion of mariners ia that the note is a hoax.
