THE FISHPONDS.

Yesterday afternoon Messrs E. G. Eton. C. E. Dauiell, J. Pauling and T. Wagg, a sub-committee of tiie Trust Lauds Trust appointed at last Friday's meeting for the purpose, inspected a site at Kuripuni which the Wellington Acclimatisation Society is desirous of leasing from the Trust for fishponds. They were accompanied by Mr D. McGregor, senr. (Wairarapa "' repreon the Acclimatisation and Mr J. Miller (curator at the Mastorton fishponds). A portion of the section viewed was considered as suitable i'or the purposes required, and a report in connection therewith will be submitted to tno next meeting of the Trust. It is probable that a satisfactory arrangement will be arrived at between the Trust and the Acclimatisation Society, •which will be the means of the fishponds remaining in Masterton.
