SUFFRAGETTE MARRIAGE.

THE PROMISE TO OBEY. Press Association—Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Monday, at 8.55 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. Mr Victor Duval and Miss Anna Dngdale, niece of Viscount Peel, and a prominent suffragette, were married in tho Chapel Royal.

The bride intended to omit the promise to obey from the service, but the Archbishop of Canterbury, reading the announcement in tho newspapers, informed the chaplain that the omission would render the validity of the marriage doubtful.

The chaplain accordingly stated from the altar that ho was obliged to read the complete service, though ho hoped tho law would be reformed.
