A cable message 'received to-day states that Hon. O. G. Wade, Premier of New South Wales, accompanied by his wife and sou, have left Sydney for New Zealand by the Maheuo.

Mr J. S. Piu hey. whose serious illness was reported some time ago, aud who has since been visiting Napier for the benefit of his health, has returned to Mastertou looking very much better.

The ''interment of the late Mrs Aunie Harriet Ewingtou took place at the Masterton Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral was a large and representative oue, friends aud sympathisers beiug present from all parts of the district in testimony of the esteem aud respect in which deceased was held. An impressive burial service was conducted at the graveside by Rev. H. Watson. Among numerous messages of sympathy received by the bereaved family was a letter from Mr A.. M.P., on behalf of himself and Mrs Hogg, expressing their regret at the receipt ofthe news.
