AQUATIC CARNIVAL.
FQRTHER ARRANGEMENTS
The committee that is making tbe arrangements for the Aquatic Caruival on Boxing Day met last evening aud dealt with several matters of importance.
The Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club wrote statiug that the mombers iuteud doing all in their power to make the carnival au even greater success than the last. The conduct of all the swimming events will be left in their charge. The programme for the carnival was fiaully arranged. It includes a 220 yards" Wairarapa Champiouship. There are 13 open aud G Club eveuts., besides a number of amusiug races and schoolboy's handicaps. It is anticipated that some of the best swimmers in the Dominion will be competing. Mr S. A. Noble-Campbell has kiudly donated a valuable cup to be given as the prize for the Championship Race. Other residents havo also made ciouatious to the prize fund. A committee to canvass tor prizes has been appointed, and it was decided to ask the members of the Ladies' Swimming Club to assist in various ways. As the object of the carnival is to raise funds to further extend and beautify the Park aud Lake, the public will no doubt assist to make the function an assured success.
