{Received This Morning, at 2.50 a.m.) Sydney, Last Night,

Hon. G. H. Reid, in a speech to-day, replied to Cardinal Moran's reference to Socialism. He said he believed that gentlemen belonging to the Church should keep out of politics ; but if they came into politics they must not be treated differently from other men. In the four branches of Socialism mentioned by the Cardinal omitted mention of " Australian Socialism," and that was a fallacy.
